Retrospect is a backup utility that was introduced in 1989 by Dantz, targeting the Apple Macintosh backup market. Dantz were acquired by EMC in 2004, who sold Retrospect on to Roxio in 2010.
Though Retrospect has long since been ported to Microsoft Windows, it is most commonly encountered running on Macs.
Backup clients are also available for Linux, Solaris, and NetWare.
